Grape Picker's Skillet Chicken

Named for the "peasant" dish of layered potatoes encased in bacon, this dish was a favorite of grape pickers in France's Burgundy region.

  1. this was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Such a blend of flavors with the bacon, thyme, cheese, chicken and potatoes. The kitchen smelled wonderful while we anxiously waited. We used a combination of grated swiss and provolone instead of gruyere and plain onion instead of leeks.
