All Things Kahlua

One of my personal favorites  it’s like a drunken visit to the coffee shop. Known in the U.S of A as a Colorado Bulldog, or some call it the Paralyze r  on account of how easy it is to forget you’re even drinking anything alcoholic at all.
Ingredients :

Colorado Bulldog
1.0 oz Kahlua
0.5 oz Cola (can use diet)
3.5 oz Milk  ( like to use fat free half and half)
1.0 oz Vodka
Directions:
Step 1. Fill a chilled highball glass with ice
Step 2. Pour in Vodka and Kahlua (or Coffee Liqueur if you must)
Step 3. Pour in Cola first, then top with cold milk.
Important – Always pour milk in last or risk curdling the drink

Kahlua Bundt Cake

This was always a favorite at Randalla's! The longer it sits the better it tastes.  Kahlua recipe that you can use in this cake find below. ( After the cake is gone you can make "Colorado Bull Dogs" - a favorite frosty beverage at our house)

KAHLUA BUNDT CAKE
Randalla Blanscet

1 Pkg. Sour Cream Devils Food Cake Mix
3/4 C. Oil
1 Tub Sour Cream (16 oz.)
1 Pkg. Chocolate Chips (6 oz.)
4 Eggs
1/3 C. Kahlua
1 Sm. Pkg. Chocolate Instant Pudding and Pie Filling
Garnish With White and Chocolate Drizzle/cherries or Dipped Berries

Mix together above ingredients and beat at medium speed for two minutes. Pour into greased Bundt pan or 12 prepared mini-bundt pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. For mini-bundts, bake for 20-25 minutes and check for doneness.

Notes: You can make a bundt cake or mini-bundt cakes with this recipe.

My mom started making this recipe in 1960.  I have been making it since the 1970's to give as Christmas presents.  It is one of the best homemade Kaluha recipes I have ever tried.  The longer it sits the better it is.  We always celebrate our kaluha making with a Colorado Bulldog.  See recipe below.  Be careful..... they sneak up and 'bite' you on the butt!!

Homemande Kaluha
1 1/5 Vodka, cheap
5 Tablespoons Instant Coffee
2 Teaspoons Glycerine
1/2 Cup Boiling Water
2 Cups Water
3 Cups Sugar
2 Teaspoons Vanilla

Dissolve coffee in the 1/2 cup of boiling water. Let it cool to room temperature. Next, bring to a boil 2 cups of water with the sugar, and boil for 20 minutes. Add coffee mixture. Cool to room temperature. Add all other ingredients. This will make 2-1/5th bottles. 1/2 gallon of vodka is a double recipe. 

Yield: 2 - 1/5's
Notes: You can make a "colorado bulldog" 1 ounce vodka, 1 ounce kaluha in a glass with ice,
fill 2/3 the rest of the way with coke or diet coke, and then the rest of the way with milk. Stir and enjoy!

Eggs Called for on Brownie Mix Box
1 Tablespoon Instant Coffee Granules or Crystals
1 Box Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding and Pie (4-serving size)
2 Cups Cold Half & Half
1 Bag Milk Chocolate Toffee Bits (8 oz)
1 Container Frozen Whipped Topping (8 oz) thawed
Kahlua
