My grandma Marge could make the best pies ever. She learned from her mother who was a wonderful cook. This is my very favorite; Butterscotch Pie. The recipe evolved in the 50's and I remember Grandma would have it at every holiday.
Grandma Marge's Butterscotch Pie
Makes 1 nine inch pie
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tblsp flour
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups cup milk
1 baked 9-inch pie shell
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar

Instructions: Add brown sugar and white sugar to 3 tblsp of flour and mix. Add 1 cup milk and stir and then add egg yolks and rest of milk. Cook on top of stove until thick. Remove from heat and add cap full of vanilla. Top with Meringue and bake at 400 until meringue browns
Any Kind of Cream Pie- Marge Henry
This are the exact instructions as she gave them to us. You have to know to "temper" the eggs and stir until thick.
1 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP CORNSTARCH
1 TBL FLOUR
1/4 TESP SALT
2 3/4 CUPS MILK
3 EGGS (SEPARATED) USE YOLKS
1 TESP VANILLA
MIX FIRST 5 INGREDIENTS AND COOK IN DOUBLE BOILER UNTIL IT STARTS TO THICKEN. BEAT EGG YOLKS WITH FORK AND ADD A SMALL AMOUNT AT TIME TO COOKING MIXTURE. ADD REST OF INGREDIENT.
AT THIS POINT YOU MAY ADD 1/2 CUP COCONUT, CHERRIES CHOCOLATE, RAISINS, BANANAS.
TOP WITH MERINGUE AND BAKE TILL LIGHTLY BROWN
